I grew up in a small town in Northwest South Dakota. My dad introduced me to the outdoors at a young age. That introduction grew into a great passion. Now, I fish as often as possible both, competitively and for pleasure. My favorite fishing partners are my family members.Home Town- Lemmon, SD
Family- Wife, Krista, two dogs, Peaches and Tara
Occupation - Certified Jeweler, Master Model Maker, Master Mold Cutter
Favorite fish- Walleye and Northern Pike
Favorite Fishing Destination- Shadehill Reservoir near Lemmon, SD
Favorite techniques- Trolling/Leadcore Trolling and "Olson Rigging"
Career Highlight- Guiding my Grandfather to land the largest walleye of his life, a 32" 12.5 lb. South Dakota Whopper
My journey began as a child, fishing with my Dad and Grandfather. My first big tournament was when I was 10-years-old fishing with my dad, we received 2nd place. I remember watching the PWT Championship and I thought, "Someday that will be me."
As the years continued on, my passion for the outdoors grew stronger, my dad and I continued to enter tournaments and we would always do well. Competing gave me the opportunity to continue to extend and expand my fishing skills. Eventually, I bought my first boat and began captaining my own fishing adventures. My passion for fishing continued to grow and I decided to join a walleye league, where I learned time management and decision making. After four consecutive years of winning, my confidence had grown to the point where I felt like I could follow my dream.
Today, my favorite fishing partners continue to be my family. We fish as often as we can, and enjoy spending time together on the water. I fish with great intensity and passion for the sport. I also enjoy sharing my fishing knowledge and enthusiasm with future generations of anglers and fellow fisherman. I now have the privilege to compete against the top professional anglers in the nation; this is my dream that was my journey.
